The Rudy Tool lifting device is designed to remove cast-iron valve box cover and lids. Designed with safety in mind, it eliminates the need for prolonged bending or getting on your hands and knees to pry the lids off. Let the handle do the work. The scissors-style lifter removes and reinstalls the lids while standing in a safe upright position. The Rudy Tool model 1 (RT1) is shown in the pictures.
In the future, a Rudy Tool model 2 (RT2) will be available which includes a water meter box lock release.
